Ok. thank you. I'll probably cause the effect of ffmpeg failing forcefully for my side to try to find all remaining issues.

First: thank you greatly for giving this attention.
Does not crash on ffmpeg now, but does crash when attempting to click the red X and close the empty [Introduction] window; whether launched by vanilla startup config, or by manually clicking the tutorial button. See screenshot. User cannot re-launch game from menu, but must exit to desktop, otherwise user is presented with apparent endless loop of NPEs dialogs.

It is possibly fixed with this. But I can't be sure.. The reason this seems OS dependent is because this is a running condition, so it really depends on how fast/slow threads are being handled.
possible connection to openjdk https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8050499
should no longer crash now
Tested this on a 2014 macbook air. Had the same error before fixing it. Should be good now and can even use integer shader support for more speed.

Just a quick question on this. I was considering putting in a potentially related bug issue. But it might not be depends on how your resolved this.
The bug I was going to report is if there is a long chain of entities docked such as I had station modules docked to a station with ships docked to that and other ships docked to that one and the turrets and so on.
Apparently that also will end up loosing entities.
It is different based on which OS you are on. It is related to the directory structure and windows only being able to handle certain length paths to files.
I realized the issue when I was making large chained power supplies. I didn't consider the issue how it might effect other stuff. Or there might be a circumstance someone docked that much together.
So that was a bad assumption on my part and I should have reported it then.
Anyway the question is this issue related and does the fix to this fix what I am talking about or does that need a separate report?
didnt work i redownloaded the complete game and it looks still broken.
Its only with the recent Pre-build.

Can you please delete the /data/textures directory inside your starmade installation and use the "download normal" option in the launcher screen to restore all textures to default?
(It looks like a broken texture download)
I am on single Player. Using the Default texture pack.(Didnt Change anything)
Are you on single player?
Or on a server that may have custom textures?
Well, it doesn't immediately crash at this point, until running into T1525 of-course.
Still happening.

Aye, fixed. Forgot to set to resolve. Thanks for reporting

Nope.
Archived = Mentioned in news, we do not want to mention the issue again.

Still an issue affecting current release. I'm having the same issue RN.
Was due to WiP on fixing mac frame buffer usage. Should be ok now
they will not remove for some time as a security measure
Wrong interpretation of argument. should be fine in v 0.199.495
There have been some changes to how entities are moved within the database (0.199.495+). Needs more testing if error persists (or got less frequent, because if so we would know the root cause and can probably trace it to find the exact error)

Unsure how much it affects FB init w/ macOS...but in older releases, forcing FB on w/ the hotkey caused no crash-related issues that I experienced, and dramatically improved performance.

Still crashes on launch, same error as reported earlier, see T2317

warp was applied while in physics process, which in turn overwrote the fix
