Worked with Tester to find the issue. Somehow a rail speed controller was linked to all the rails on my station for no reason (even though the rail speed controller had a high ratio set on it).
The doors now work as intended.
Originally when I noticed this problem I constructed a test rail door on the same entity (my space station) to see if it was caused by the change regarding collisions. This door did not work. Another player reported that their rail based moving entities (in this case an elevator) were working.
Looks like I made a dupe of this issue at T1915, sorry about that (did a quick search before the ticket, but then later found this ticket via a different keyword).

over heating fleet ship isnt removed from the fleet and cant be salvaged ...
test did work just fine
moved the fleet to my position above a planet ... and ordered them to leave again.
Trying to build some automated door systems is Impossible until this and the Area Trigger bug similar to this are fixed...
resolved as of 199.217
damn .. wrong browser window
Nothing to add.
I'll clarify it a bit but what you describe sounds like how it is supposed to work.
Battery was the first name for it
seems i cant reproduce this easily
could you please add a logfile containing the problem ?
then build a seperate sample on a grey hull plate
just copy paste the door over to it from the station
would be easier than me using a 1200 ping connection to australia ^^
I will be unable to do so because it is my station on MP with everything attached to it. (Everything is ALOT in this case and I'm not feeling good about if the game will crash while doing it)

very likely settings problem
my doors work just fine.
Feel free to close/delete this ticket. I didn't realize, at first, that auxiliary reactors were meant to be permanently left turned on. That surprised me.
must have been broken by the fit for T1771

I can't make sense of the math.
Correction... I did some more testing. It is doing an initial dump of a lot of power, follow by a lesser recharge when the auxiliary tank empties, but the empty auxiliary tank recharge rate feels like the recharge rate of that listed for the "on" stat.
