Since the chunk update, chunks above 70 meters on planets are destroyed during the conversion process. All planets on our server are affected.

Event Timeline
It isn't happening just on conversion to new chunks.
It is allso happening to new planets allready on the new chunk system. (complete new universe)
I built a sky-scraper, up to about 120 meters. (from the surface of a Radius 315 planet)
Multiple log-out events during the build. Everything was fine.
Log in next day? Everything more than about 80 meters above the surface is just gone.
Best we can figure, it happened when the sector was fully unloaded, once everyone was either offline, or just not in that sector.
Then, when we logged in, the load operation missed everything above that point.

the sad problem is that their is supposed to be a building limit obove and around planets .. which has been broken.
could be that that got fixed and the conversion then killed the stuff from old universes.
where that isnt being saved on new tries now.
it should at least stop you from placing those blocks in the first place.
and needs a clarification if this is still intended (and fixed therefore) or if it was more like a collateral change.
Indeed I play on the same server than John, and all our planets with high constructions are cut, like our capital-planet Cephedri with many skycrapers (= Coruscant in Star Wars). Please save our empiiiiiiiiire !!!!! (our inhabitants have no longer appartments)

The bug war from handling generation of planets in a faster way (and that never goes that high). The system however also applied that method for modified planets resulting in that bug.
The fix should also bring back the chunks of broken planets in the game even if they were modified in the meantime.

my planet station on the Testserver is still missing its orbital installation.
so i guess for that one it didnt work
