When you turn on auxiliary power it never runs out. Even after the storage is emptied. If it generates 1,700,000 e/s when on and 357,000 e/s when off. It will generate 1,700,000 e/s forever.

- add a lot of power storage to a ship and medium amount of power storage
- turn on the auxiliary power
- look at the auxiliary power storage stat and compare it to how much power it puts in the power tanks when turned on.

Correction... I did some more testing. It is doing an initial dump of a lot of power, follow by a lesser recharge when the auxiliary tank empties, but the empty auxiliary tank recharge rate feels like the recharge rate of that listed for the "on" stat.
I can't make sense of the math.
An auxiliary power tank of 37,451,589 total storage being dumped in about 10 seconds and having an "off" regen of 534,999e/s should take about 10 minutes to fill 336,959,229 power storage. But it can fill it in less than a minute.
Usually I can make sense of these things, but I don't understand.
Feel free to close/delete this ticket. I didn't realize, at first, that auxiliary reactors were meant to be permanently left turned on. That surprised me.
I'll clarify it a bit but what you describe sounds like how it is supposed to work.
ON: It adds the "on" recharge rate to the main ship, on top of that it also adds extra regen caused by dumping the internal storage into the ship. That's a % of your capacitor.
OFF: It adds the "off" recharge rate to internal storage, nothing more.
Send me a message on SMD if you have more questions about it.
