End users resolve this by installing libgconf-2-4, but only experienced Linux users would know they need to do this. If you are using gconfig to store configuration information, you can just use a static file or directory "$HOME/.starmade" to store configuration info. This is the more traditional way of storing application specific configuration data on Unix systems, and works just as well on Mac OS X (it would also be a great place to store game session independent blueprints).

I offer a solution to this issue. I hope it helps.
Current StarMade launcher, which crashed on pressing start game on Mac OSX 10.15 Catalina (New Macbook Air), was made to work by uninstalling all java elements, including jdk and jde as well as oracle and java folders, and then installing Java SE 7 for macOS 64 and the Java 7 jdk.
The game crashed only when loading the world for the first time (had to hard reboot) but second time worked wonders.

I've been getting this crash after anywhere for right after loading up a world to about 30 seconds of play.

Area triggers now trigger most logic blocks. They do not work with NOT and can only toggle T-Flip-flops into a high state. I'm not sure if this is an intended behavior or if they should only function with buttons and activators. I know personally I had this break some of my circuits as the area triggers started to toggle blocks they were never intended to.
