This bug still exists, i had attempted to edit the ranks 10 times on Freaks R Us with no success.
This bug only exists on multiplayer it seems as well, its been over a year that this bug has been in place.
Please fix it.
Just thought I'd update this. Entities are now spawning in when the sector import is completed. I did not check if there are still errors in the logs though.

Unable to replicate on v0.199.535
The original issue wasn't there anymore, although shop interaction (take and put in as owner) were not working properly. Buttons were greyed out when they should not have been, an ownership problem even though I was the owner.
That's fixed now.

With cannons only the 1st block damage number applies. a 1 million damage cannon has 61 penetration blocks, dealing 40 000 damage on the 1st block and in this case also the planet core.
It's fine for beams
It doesn't work at all for missiles and pulse but that's reported here T461
Update: beams apply damage correctly. this damage reduction effect of the bug only affects cannons.

Oh, yes that could indeed be a factor. I tried them vs real enemy factions, not the neutral=enemy setup. Will try them again with this mode.
Yes I did all those steps and I always check the ai module after entering/leaving the core to make sure the settings are correct.
I can't reliably reproduce it anymore, only got it once now and the exact same steps don't trigger the issue again.

Apparently there is no existing task of this issue. It's one of the older shipyard issues most likely going back to its dev builds.
There's some issue with loading/unloading designs where the game still thinks an older design is loaded, thus "overlaps with structure" as it is part of the shipyard.
Tried it again, and it worked properly.

The turret is on an elevated flat platform on my station so im not sure what it possibly could be running into. You can pilot it just fine and it can turn in all directions other than straight down.

Okay, from the sole building type and construction the turret should work.
I couldnt pinpoint the ships involved, no, there was a lot going on around me. I havent loaded that world since, so I can probably try to track them down
