Teleport to sector 4 4 4 and then create a fleet. Order that fleet to travel to 2 2 2. In singleplayer, restart the game. The fleet will now be listed as idle, and their position will be the same.

Tester information (Internal use only)

All fleet orders go back to Idle after a shutdown, as intended for now.

Okay, did some more testing at my end. This only happens when the server shuts down. This can be a problem for SP-players.

-Feedback-

Ok so unfortunately we have another bug that messes with this one.

Seems that if you use a capitalized name, fleets don't save at all on shutdown (that's always the case for MP, and sometimes for SP if you don't already have the same name in use with a lowercase first letter)

When I manage to keep the fleets saved, it loses all its members in both SP and MP on shutdown so the move order gets cancelled anyway since the fleet members don't exist anymore (the ships still do).

So you still see fleet members?

Last question is irrelevant now, issue(s) got fixed. I'll check it again some time later.

I was in SP, with the name "Comr4deplsunban", had no problems with fleets deleting themselves

-Confirmed-

All fleet orders turn back to Idle after a server reboot. It's not a bug though, it's simply not implemented yet.

Popped onto the server and noticed this today after moving a fleet.

Fleet following a "move" order to a sector.
I jumped the flagship to the target sector and waited for the fleet to arrive.
Fleet ships arrived as I could see them on nav but still 14km away, but as I was running low on memory (work mac) I logged out.
Logged back in straight away and the move order had been cancelled and the fleet was spread out and not at the target sector.
I had to reissue the move order to the target sector again.

So the sector had not unloaded in the short space of time it took to relog and also the server had not restarted.
So the fleet order was cancelled when my client disconnected.

I wanted to update this with fleet orders not being persistent after a player logs out as well.
