Definitely needs resolving. Fed up of finding missing turrets or NPC delivery fleets leaving doors or turrets behind!

I think an update to the title of this bug is required - it doesnt only affect NPC fleets, but player fleets aswell. Hopefully this will get some traction, as its currently crippling the use of combat fleets, and its even getting mentioned in YouTube videos (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO74wAJxtPc at 2:40) as 'that fleet turret bug' #FleetTurretBug!

Tested this on a 2014 macbook air. Had the same error before fixing it. Should be good now and can even use integer shader support for more speed.

This just happened to me aswell, my fleets did a round then returned bare of any turrets - I have no idea where any them are. This really cripples the use of fleets - cannot wait for a fix!

This has been happening to me also. It makes me want to quit playing the game. Go out with 5 ships on a mission 3 come back with no turrets, 64 turrets gone. Time and resources just disappear.

Unsure how much it affects FB init w/ macOS...but in older releases, forcing FB on w/ the hotkey caused no crash-related issues that I experienced, and dramatically improved performance.

Unfortunately MacOS did not provide backwards compatibility from core 3.2. That means that it's impossible to request a context without forward compatibility, which removes fixed function pipeline. This is used by the current text rendering library, and in a few other places, since I always went with backwards compatibility over using the latest openGL without a fallback.

Needs some more testing but the severe issues are gone. It's still possible from time to time where it seems to register a 180° flip but not sure yet how to reproduce that consistently.
