A different texture pack and/or resolution can now be selected in the in-game graphics options menu, but after doing so one cannot successfully return to the previously active textures. A previously active pack/resolution cane be selected and the choice will save, but will not be visibly active in the game. It appears that I can keep selecting different textures, but only ones which I have not previously used in the game session will actually be used (visible on blocks).
I had two purposes in mind:
- To compare the appearance of a ship etc. using different texture packs (while being able to return to my usual texture pack).
- To make changes to my texture files and evaluate the effect without reloading the game (by switching to another texture set and back, which it appears should reload the original textures).
Exiting to the main menu and selecting the previous texture set there did not change the graphics in game.
Exiting to desktop and reloading the game successfully uses the selected textures.
