You did download the new launcher succesfully?
Is the Launcher than not starting ?
or can you go through the entire Launcher process ?
(agree to terms, install directory, login then options screen with launch button)
and it isnt after that starting the Game after hitting Launch ?
if you do have a JAVA JDK installed .. please try to change the custom java path under options to that as a test.
could you be more precise here please ?

Logfiles are being found under starmade/logs .. just delete everything in that logfolder.
then startup the game save a blueprint of the thing that causes the crash when activated.
then crash the game.
now get everything from the logs folder and the saved blueprint folder of your sample, zip that all and attach it here.
New details.
The issue seems to be directly related to faction blocks.
It works just fine if the receiving entity and the docking entity are not factioned, but factioned entities actually cause the bug.
Fix confirmed.
Ok so...seems shipyard pulling suffers from multiple issues so it's hard to figure out which one is what.

Fix confirmed for windows, could use someone to check linux and mac versions.
Works fine for the windows version. I'm not sure how it deals with hotfix release builds since those have the exact same release version as the previous one.
Would it filter out the older duplicates or ignore them?

Does it start with the bundled java version?
Can you possibly check if the game generates logs_?
-QA Testing-
Too bad, confirmed that.
This one might go away when http://phab.starma.de/T643 is fixed.
Further update: the issue is not the blocks like shops, factories being operational. The issue is that they're allowed to be placed in the first place, whether it be a BP or a shipyard. On a server where restricting shields to stations is part of the custom config, it seriously interferes with that config without some sort of hacky workarounds.
(this was a feature more than an issue)
unfortunately not, assuming input error from user then,
thank you for testing this.
Is this in single-player or on a server?
Can you make sure its not the "simple light mode" enabled from the options menu?
Seems like that was the cause for most above screenshots.
The build-mode-flashing is the only real indicator where the build zone ends, and what you can build on or not, if you are unsure.
do you have that on a server or can you try to build it on our testserver somehow?
could make it easier to communicate the details.

i got no idea where to even begin in the log files
The white <-> green reticle works a lot better now, seems to still suffer from an update issue but the beams themselves seem to work fine. Going to leave it open a bit longer and see if I can find a better hidden issue.

'-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true' is already present and passed to the jvm.
