Starmade | Logging out in gravity well of wormhole results in ship loss.
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

Logging out of the game while in the gravity well of a wormhole results in loss of ship as when you log back in you are outside the ship and it gets pulled into the wormhole faster than the player no matter what.

I can only think of two options to fix this, either make it so when you log out in control of the ship you return to the world controlling the ship on login unless another player is in control of it. Or it should be set so all bodies not under propulsion in the gravity well of a wormhole have the same top speed, but be able to push past it slightly when under power to allow maneuvering between objects in the gravity well when at maximum attraction speed.

saved alignment to a ship in a wormhole sector maybe is unstable ... quick test placed me 20 m away on relog causing me just to not fall off.
could also be associated with the core exiting problems of late (T820) which place me inside the core on relog without gravity movement from a wormhole

I somewhat fear that it is Lag induced and maybe server(-setting) or even ship dependent as i had no success reproducing that bug (although i always had relatively low ping and lag).
I was always logged in matching the speed of my ship.

This sounds similar to T428 which is in queue, when it's fixed this problem should go away. I'm guessing the reason a wormhole can remove you from the ship entirely is due to the extreme speeds the ship can reach vs a normal ships max overdrive.

Sounds quite like so, would be interesting to know the speed settings of the server in which it occured (in my experiences, even with the high speed due to the wormhole my character always had zero relative speed regarding to the ship, the only small problem i observed was jittering of turrets)

i am putting that on Feedback, still got no success in testing that

Issue went obsolete, as logout position is now following the ship.
