Starmade | Wireless Blocks need to reconnect every time a MP server restarts
Closed, InvalidPublic

Description

I'am an admin for our server "Starmade 40k", everyday before work I restart the server, to reduce fps and ping spikes.
Now after a restart all wireless links need to be reconnected, I do not think this is a new problem.

Thanks,
Pho

To confirm after stopping your MP server and restarting wireless links are not broken?
Our server still has this issue and is running the latest version.

Will ask if anyone else has this issue.

all and every wireless link is broken after a restart on you server ?

may i get a sample of a sector in which that happens ? best to export the whole sector, blueprints maybe not affected (or affected in a different ways)

I exported the sector but have no idea where it exported to?

it does so to the servers data folders.
i just read on T466 that you do not have access to the Server directly, so you wont be able to retrieve that.
I am sorry but in that case we have nothing to work on and i close this report

if you can get that information please contact AndyP here or on the support page for further investigation.

Last thing to add.
I restarted the server this morning, wireless blocks were working on the ship but had to be reconnected on the station.
At this point I shall be giving up reporting MP issues as I need the access. I shall forward these points to the main server admin.

A small point it is a shame that reports are hidden and only a few are public, I liked the transparency of your old system as progress could be seen.

Best,

Phocian

reports are set to private before validation, after that the are as long as they are not an exploit changed to public view. only a few shouldnt be visible at all foryou

That´s really to good to know.
I will let others know.

Ok, this is just closed because one person can not get a file? how about checking the old bug tracker? there was at least 5 reports of this, and I was one of them. I uploaded everything they wanted, gave them server files, system specs, and it sat for 2 months unanswered. bug #2122. it is only stations, ships are fine. I have a my spawn station set up right now, 5 wireless going to a docked elevator, the 5 on the elevator are linked to 5 buttons, then 5 button linked to 5 more wireless, them 5 wireless linked to 5 NEW wireless on the station, the 5 new wireless on the station linked to 5 new buttons, the 5 new buttons linked to 5 yellow lights. I linke everything up and when I hit the first wireless it lights up the light.. simple right. I then logout.. say 5 hours. NO server reset, I log back in and the wireless does not work. all 5 sets. if I restart the server the wireless is fine. it seems to do this when a sector goes inactive and is saved or whatnot. if I leave my charater online the stations wireless never losses wireless

We (Star Fleet Mercenaries server) have also been getting this problem. When the server is reset the wireless links are getting reset. We reset the world about 3 weeks ago and the problem went away until Friday of last week (august 17th). Uploading a base that has the unlinked wireless blocks. On the top of the glass dome are 4 wireless blocks that should be linked but have been unset.

I am an admin on the server and can post any files you might need.

After nearly a month, the wireless is acting up. The test blocks we setup in our base have unlinked on there own. as well as the ship to ship link i added.
