Apparently it's due to the chunk 32 update, but this sort of completely killed the economy on every multiplayer server and have had others test this for me to confirm :)
There is a severe lack of ore+shards when mining, a rough calculation showed only 0.46% mass that I had salvaged had been ore+shards (asteroid was a Dolome roid, so should be the most lucrative on average). Another player reported the same problem on the same multiplayer server, mining 600,000 mass of junk blocks and only ~5000 ore+shards which works out to about 0.83%. I would like the game to have a slower progression that it was a few years ago, credits were too easy to come by, but nearly all of my income at the moment is from just selling the junk from asteroids, and the huge lack of ore makes it completely useless to mine asteroids anymore. Planet mining is at about 3.5% ore(when not including decoratives like fauna), but not sure of the percentages before so couldn't tell you because I don't mine planets due to lag :P Anyways, hope this can get fixed soon so I can start playing and making money again :) I've even tested this on single player and got 0.9% ore which is a lot more than expected yet still a very low amount
