Starmade | Repair from Design Corrupts Design
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

Damaged Ship was placed in the shipyard it originally came from. Repair Docked from Design selected. Ship was deconstructed. After a few seconds, I checked the shipyard computer. Nothing was there. Attempting to load the design it was being repaired from brought the error:

Cannot Load Design
Entity for design not valid in database

No changes has been made to the ship other than damage from combat (to the turrets). Unknown if that would affect it.

Everything is working for me thus far. Do you have a good blueprint that you can upload here? That way I can get closer to the circumstances of the issue.

Possible file corruption user should retest.

I am assuming it was due to a corrupt blueprint file, as 10 days have gone by without feedback response. And I have been unable to replicate.

Re-performed a repair docked from blueprint. Steps to recreate, regardless of ships it seems:

  1. Place a damaged ship onto the station anchor
  1. Select the design it came from
  1. Watch as it is completely deconstructed
  1. Attempt to reload the design
  1. Design will claim not to be valid due to no entity assigned to it.

This could occur due to the design selected being different than that of the original, even if similar (such as an earlier version without turrets, or with a few minor changes).

I apologize for this taking so long to get a new test done on. Life got in the way. The ships were not transferred from a Blueprint to be made. The first ship was a second copy of a design that had been modified, and the other was a freshly made design through the Shipyard itself.

Personal theories: Armor HP being damaged or Structural HP not being at maximum could be a possible culprit.
