When closing the cat window while in Advanced build mode with LMB a block is placed, it is of course whatever is currently selected in the hot bar but its is annoying and has been around for a while

Can you give me more detailed information as into what is happening when this error occurs.

Can't reproduce either, i assume your issue is that the click on the X also registers as a click to place a block but it does not happen for me. Perhaps you can include a few pictures that show you how to exactly reproduce it.
