Starmade | Turrets Aiming at Marker of Entity When Asteroid is Targeted (and other issues)

Description

Bobby AI aims towards the marker of an asteroid when attempting to shoot the "target entity".

To reproduce:

  1. Place a simple turret on a mothership entity.
  2. Make sure the turret contains the following blocks:
  • Bobby AI;
  • Weapon computer;
  • Weapon module.
  1. Enable bobby with the following settings:
    • Type: Turret;
    • Active: Yes;
    • Aim At: Selected Target.
  1. Enter mothership core.
  2. Select an asteroid.

This produces the following results, tested with beam, cannon and salvage beam (the latter is triggered with logic clock and a wireless module).

P.S. I apologize for linking screenshots on an external resource, this is the first time I am using the new bug reporting resource and cannot seem to locate the file attachment button.

EDIT: This bug is also true for targeted ships. Turret does not aim at systems when in "Aim At: Selected Target".
EDIT2: Turret is unable to switch to other targets when in "Aim At: Selected Target" mode when they are selected.

Confirmed in parts:

Original issue (targeting asteroids) reproducible,
Both edits seem to be fixed.

Starmade v0.19348
Bugreport is true for Asteroids but shooting at ships seems to work as intended,
-> turret will target systems and not just shoot the marker.
Target switching also works.

How to reproduce: As described in the bug report,

  1. turret, Bobby AI target at "Selected Target"
  2. Select Asteroids
  3. turret will keep shooting at the marker, even if blocks at that position are already destroyed

The original issue still persists.

The following are no longer true:
