Starmade | Admin warping teleports player's used ship/astronaut into planets and stations in occupied sectors
Confirmed task for development, NormalPublic

Description

#1 original report

  • Using the galaxy map's admin warp feature to warp to sectors with planets or stations results in the player's ship being teleported directly to the center of the structures/planets in that sector, resulting in extreme lag spikes. Some sort of object detection and teleporting-next-to-it-instead feature needs to be added to help fix this.
  • I've figured out how to reproduce this

So it seems that when using the admin warp command, it teleports the player to another sector in the same relative position inside the sector the player was in. That means, if you sit in the center of an empty sector, and admin warp to a sector with a station or planet, you get warped inside that planet or station.

If you are sitting on the edge or in a non-central area of a sector and admin warp, you'll generally be fine, though.

#2
to reproduce

  • 1 /teleport_self_to 0.0 0.0 0.0
  • 2 use admin warp to enter a planet sector and end up inside the planet core
  • 3 in a shipcore or astronaut same problem
  • 4 applies also to stations probably spawning right into them
