#1 Original report
I'm not sure if it is something messed up about my computer or something else, but I've run into an issue with the texture that spears when triggering a jump and it has been going on for at least one or two recent builds.
The old texture resembled the shield-hit texture and animated in the same manner (ripple effect) only across the entire ship. Now it looks different and the underlying texture is blue-tinted and turns the blocks under it semi-transparent so you can see the space beyond (particularly the stars). I've checked a few things in an attempt to figure out what's doing it and it doesn't seem to be affected by any in-game setting I know of nor does changing the settings in my Catalyst Control Center (video card settings) seem to have an effect.
I've checked with another player who runs a card very close to mine and they don't seem to have this problem, so it might be that the issue is card specific or game-setting specific. At this point I don't know why I'm seeing this and it feels like its isolated and hard to pin down from a development standpoint. As such I don't know if this is an actual bug or just bad luck.
I've recorded the "problem" and included a comparison picture-in-picture of the correct jump effect animation to illustrate what I am seeing since describing it gets a bit difficult. Again, not everyone I talked to is seeing this issue, so hardware may be part of the problem. A picture has been attached as well for faster viewing (but without the picture-in-picture comparison).
