Starmade | factory insufficient power issue
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

Yesterday, i did the power experiment and confused. Today, I think again the result and remove the bias.

1)Power warning

Removing all the power gen and conduit next the production line, then power warning comes out.

*Record before removing

**This procedure is a simulation of my 1st station(blown up one)

2)Removing all power gen, conduit, chambers, shield gen and caps in the station

*Record before removing

**The power system are in BUG state: it only organized to be 4 groups, not 1 group(I make sure 5 of them are all connected by conduit and gen).

3)Warning: Station overheat and count down to destroy

It is too fast, i cannot to catch the screen.

1)I cannot build any reactor(new and old) on the station;
2)I go to the faction blocks - it is not belong to me anymore;
3)I press "enter faction signature", then the station is "cooling down"

**Cooling Down**

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Qx: got a more interesting trail, was the reactor far away from the station marker?
Like 4-5 chunks? (>75 blocks should do it)
There was a missing precheck before processing reactor HP, that it could consider an entity dead without the reactor being fully loaded.
Ax: When u remove all gen and chamber(in Bug state?), u can trigger(a change?) the Overheat of the station.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Now, i will try to reproduce the BUG again.

The relationship between Hitpoint and Power

1)My station is "0" hitpoint

2)Remove all power reactors and chamber

3)Rebuild the power reactors

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thus, how to trigger the BUG?
I think It is a chance problem.
After building power reactors, the Hitpoint becomes "0", BUT the station does not "Overheat".
Then u remove all power, the Hitpoint comes out again. However, if there is somethings wrong - the hitpoint remains "0", the station "Overheat" at once.
u can imagine, if there is a BUG in power system, the hitpoint is also"0", the station can be "Overheat".
Qx:something with the reactor setup made it think the reactor was at 0hp and destroyed it.
Can you reply in T2624: Game crashed and station removed with possible details you know about the state before you left last time? AndyP10:09 PM
Ax: I think it is not the 0hp of the reactor, it should be the problem of hitpoint "0" and NEW power system.
The OVERHEAT(hitpoint "0") is triggered by players or BUG from power system in chance.
let me keep doing my experiment~
1)Removing all power system and "Stabilizers"
2)adding gen and then undo
*The hitpoint is still "0"
3)There are power gens, then adding stabilizers and undo
*The hitpoint is still "0"
4)if there are only "Stabilizers"
The hitpoint is "increased""
**5) adding more Stabilizers
The hitpoint is "increased MORE!""
6)Now, adding gens
the hitpoint becomes "0"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Here, we get a NEW Bug - missing of the HP(Hitpoint) for Stabilizers

lancake claimed this task.

This task holds a bit of everything, 2) is handled in T2640 and 3) is one of the old issues I believe, will need to check that out once again to be sure. 1) is mentioned in another task, about factories still using the old power system permanently.
I'll merge the tasks together.
