Starmade | Storage Level Emitter / sensor block
Closed, FinishedPublic

Description

A way similar to the rail speed controller to get signals out of a storage controller when the block is 10%, 20%, 30% etc full. It would give a lot more control than "nothing" "something" and "Full"

Feature Request:

  • work like rail speed controllers.
  • You set up a "sensor" (name has to be defined), and according to enabled activation modules you define a range from 0-100%,
  • this can then be connected to storage to detect their storage amount,
  • shields, power and eventually weapons to read and detect their chargestate.

More logic implementation is always desired. Currently storage logic doesn't even work properly so that needs to be addressed as well.

Yes this need to happen however im curious as to how this would work for measuring specific amounts. Say for instance you wanted to make a fullness meter with logic. if im reading this post right then it would potentially require a massive amount of logic just for something like a 10 level fullness meter (each level representing 10%).

If it gets to complected then maybe just fixing the current storage logic would be better

Converting to task for #workflow_game_development

Result:
Accepted, however in the following form:
It will work like rail speed controllers.
You set up a "sensor" (name has to be defined), and according to enabled activation modules you define a range from 0-100%, this can then be connected to storage to detect their storage amount, shields, power and eventually weapons to read and detect their chargestate.
We consider this way more flexible for the future and also more in the concept of the other starmade mechanics.
