Starmade | Area triggers behave abnormally when in the presence of objects which activated them previously.
Confirmed task for development, NormalPublic

Description

#1 Original Report

After attempting to create an elevator, I've found that when my elevator sits in an area trigger in which it previously activated (ie entered the area trigger but is stopped) the area trigger will at random intervals between 20 and 60+ seconds send out an activation signal. I do not know if this is specific to moving ships or players as well.

My latest test of this involved sending the elevator to one area trigger using push beams, at which point the trigger would activate stop beams, this was successful but upon trying to get the elevator to go back down I realized that the trigger was activating every so often despite the elevator being stationary. Use of many more area triggers lags the game due to a separate unfixed bug.

SmilingDemon:
When building an elevator that should be activated through entering an area trigger, i had unexpected outcomes which did look random.
So i build an area trigger test and moved around in it.
Activating the trigger with the upper body part while in gravity.
it did show a unreliable outcome in activation/deactivation of the trigger
