Starmade | Mining drones stop working after one mined asteroid
Closed, DuplicatePublic

Description

(Only tested in multiplayer)

When ordered to mine, mining fleets will mine most or all of a single asteroid, then stop mining and spin around in space. Repeating the mining command will force the drones to re-acquire a target and begin mining again.

Additionally, sometimes it takes multiple mining commands to get all of the mining fleet to move. (Sometimes a few drones will continue to sit and spin until ordered to mine twice)

Steps to reproduce
  1. use a mining drone fleet and give them a mining command in a sector with more than one asteroid
  2. wait until they have depleted the first asteroid
  3. watch them being unable to obtain a new asteroid as mining target
  4. give mining order again, give idle command, call back and redeploy or something like that before giving mining command again has no effect.
  5. relogging (and unloading the sector i assume) before giving the mining order again is needed to mine the next asteroid.
  6. after that they stop again
Tester information (Internal use only)

from mergerd task

Reported by the Player "Macharius" of Asguard french server

When the size of an asteroid is > of the default value, the mining fleet does not know how to do it.
Tested with a size of "10".

totally possible that in my test there was always one small enough asteroid around that got mined and then it bugged out on a slighty bigger one. Maybe associated with the engagement range of 50 listed in the fleet list for the salvager and the range of salvagers in special

Latest release has made the mining drones completely non responsive to the "mine this sector" command.

lancake lowered the priority of this task from Pre-Release Quality Assurance to High.
