Description

I have 2,045 passwords to track, and therefore use a password manager (1Password) to maintain some semblance of sanity. I imagine many others do too.

Being unable to paste a password into the launcher's password field encourages use of simpler, easier to type passwords, which are less secure than those generated by a password manager.

Would you please permit pasting of a character string from the clipboard, into the password field on the launcher's login screen?

Steps to reproduce
  1. Start launcher.
  2. Attempt to paste a character string into the password field.

Does not function on MacOS, neither via the typical shortcut keys, nor right-clicking of the mouse.

Tester information (Internal use only)

Tried this on Win764bit - Copy - Paste did work just fine
also tried on Ubuntu 1404 64bit - Copy - Paste did work just fine

has to be checked on Mac

Using completely redesigned launcher made available in V0.198.131 ...still cannot paste password into uplink window.

Tested with launcher v.2.0.5 build 2a7eeac on MacOS: cannot paste

Decided to fiddle around with this on v2.0.5 launcher starting 0.198.133:

  1. Standard keystroke (Command+V) which works in all other apps to paste, still does not work.
  2. The following keystroke WILL paste the clipboard though: Control+V

Also noticed that pressing Shift+Home will reveal the password window's contents. Normally, this keystroke is used to highlight from the end of a line to the beginning...also a quick way to highlight an entire form entry for deletion (hence, how I discovered this)..

To clarify one thing though: I cannot find a keystroke combination that will paste into the initial/small login window shown with a fresh/clean start of launcher version 2.0.5. My earlier mentioned combination will continue to paste into the "uplink" password field though.

Just updating: this is still an issue w/ launcher version 158.

Password cannot be pasted into the initial login window, using any keystroke combination. Although once the game has been launched, the Online Play password prompt does still accept pasting, using the non-standard keystroke I noted back in May (above).

I'm still unsure if this is a launcher issue, or if it's an Electron bug. I'll do some research.
