Starmade | FPS Drop looking in General Direction of System Star
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

My frames drop down to a solid 30fps whenever I look in the general direction of a star (with bloom enabled) after my sector has been completely loaded in...
I actually don't know if you will be able to reproduce it, I can every time... It gets annoying after a while of doing stuff while looking in the direction of the star in my system...

When bloom is disabled, while moving the camera looking in the general direction of the star, my FPS fluctuates. But while standing still, I achieve my set FPS. (Which is 60 due to V-Sync)
Hope you can fix this, if not, I can just deal with it, I just figured I would mention it before I forgot.

Can you try again without V-sync? V-sync drops to 30 fps if it can't maintain 60 fps properly.

FPS drop is still there after turning V-Sync off, but not as bad as with v-sync. (I might also mention that this is with a large station/moderate battle in-sector, so maybe this will be fixed when you guys update/optimize Starmade's graphics engine.)

Not sure if this can be fixed, that big station might be influencing your FPS a lot. If you're still having issues, it's better to contact support instead. It seems that this issue only happens for a few players. http://help.star-made.org/support/tickets/new

Enabling bloom does make stars a bit more performance heavy...but it should be negligible. I went from 400-440 to 360 - 400 fps which is such a small impact that it shouldn't even move more than 1 fps near the 50-60 fps range.
