Starmade | Version 0.193 Nullpointer Error on game start
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

As stated. Attempting to connect to the test server or start an SP session results in NullPointerException: Null popping up.

So far this has been observed in version 0.19299 and version 0.193. I'm currently working my way backwards through the dev versions until I find one that works.

No problem here for me.
Did you try a new clean install into a new folder ?

Get a clean installation and attach a log of the null-pointer, will look into this then.

Ok so I have a Steam-based installation of the game, so I don't really have a choice where I install the game. But I did delete my Steam install, then tried deleting the files and folders from the Starmade directory. Unfortunately (and I have no #$%^ing clue how this happened, let alone how to fix it) the /StarMade/client-database/DATA directory is corrupted to the point where it wont even let me delete it. I deleted everything else and tried reinstalling the game, same thing happened.

EDIT: Excuse my whining from earlier. It's about 5AM and I should know better than to post on an empty stomach. Anyways, I figured out how to switch the build folder from the launcher, made a new folder and set up there, which fixed the nullpointer error. So now the only thing I need to do is figure out how to get that corrupted folder off my hard drive, but that can wait.

rejecting this as it was only caused by a broken install
