Starmade | Lighting inconsistency with corner and wedge shapes, too dark
Confirmed task for development, HighPublic

Description

When the sun is above forward/up-facing wedges, as shown in the image (taken directly below the sun in the system, camera facing downward) the sloped face of the wedge appears unlit. This issue persists in other locations beneath the sun.

Note the other wedges around the core - The flat block faces and all wedges pointing in other directions are brightly lit; there is no reason for forward-facing wedges to be unlit in this situation.

When the blocks are viewed from further away, this issue seems to disappear.

An older issue that is more pronounced now. Could be related to T1539 but can always merge later if it's the same issue.
With the lighting source right above it, so behind the camera in the following pictures, you can clearly see that any surface not perpendicular to the lighting source is dimmed.
This is I believe how it should be, but some blocks are much darker than others.

In 0.199.xxx, only corners seemed to be a bit too dark. The slope angle is the same as the wedge, yet the corners are much darker.

In 0.200.334, you have a more pronounced effect on the corners, and a particular wedge shape is also showing the same result (not in 0.199).

If you zoom out though, a different sort of lighting is used and it appears similar to how it was in 0.199, if not still a bit on the dark side.

This looks a bit like 2 issues then:

  1. particular rotations of corners and wedges have are near pitch black when it should be lit
  2. corners are in general a bit too dark compared to the rest when illuminated
