Go into options and change game resolution. close options, game is now frozen.

Quick check, cant reproduce this

what settings are you using?
Windowed, Borderless Window or Fullscreen?
please add your settings.cfg
are you changing your resolution to something bigger than the panels resolution ?

I only use windowed. It doesn't matter which resolution. The res actually changes, but I cant do anything afterward.

seems to be hardware or OS specific to your system. i also cant reproduce it with those settings of yours.
(please next time just drag and drop the file to the comment , and dont copy paste its content as an answer)

so what OS are you using, what java version installed and what GPU is being used too
(please add the grafcisinfo.txt from the logfolder for the grafic driver info)

I Changed Compatibility mode on the starter to window 7. Didn't make a difference.

using myself a AMD R9 280x .. wouldnt assume that to be the cause
