Starmade | Undocking from another ship causes your ship to "disappear" and the world to flicker.
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

Picture of how it looks after exiting and reentering the game.

when the ship disappears, you lose your ability to interact with it but you can still toggle build mode and exit it. when you exit the core the screen is still flickering, and re-entering the game doesn't help.

some more circumstances-

-the parent ship had several other subvehicles
-there was logic set up, and previously activated, to undock subvehicles. the subvehicle was manually undocked however

Steps to reproduce

this is what i did before the thing happened:

-use "Create Docker" on a ship.
-exit the ship and enter the new subvehicle
-build on the subvehicle, including an overdrive passive effect (might not be related)
-enter flight mode, turn on the overdrive, and undock

the screen starts to flicker, all navigation icons show ridiculously high distance numbers, but the map shows you to be in the same sector you were.

-Feedback-

Can't reproduce unfortunately, I did hear about someone getting to ridiculous distances (like you had) after undocking his ship. Not sure if there was an overdrive involved though.

Can you reproduce this consistently or did it only happen once?

Yeah i've been doing some testing and it doesn't look like i can make it happen on purpose again.

i tried in order,
-docking a ship to another ship, building on the subship, and undocking
-doing the same, activating overdrive on the subship, and undocking
-creating a subship with "create docker" building and undocking
-creating a subship with "create docker", building including an overdrive, activating overdrive and undocking
-creating a subship with loads more mass than the parent ship, activating overdrive and undocking

i'll try again later and see if it has to do with having multiple dockers, or if it has to do with logic somehow.

-rejected-

This bug would have been caused by a Not a Number exception, something that probably can still happen with shoot out rails, although that's a different task.
Rejecting as there wasn't any new feedback or clues on this, assuming it doesn't happen anymore (for normal docks).
