We created a freighter similar to the Millennium Falcon called the Outrider. The core is located in the cockpit on the far right of the ship (we sit on wedges so when we exit the core we aren't ejected outside the ship). when we walk directly away from the cockpit and the core, towards the left side of the ship, right before we get to the port airlock, we lose gravity and end up floating in a disoriented position.
Activating gravity modules in this area will upright the player for about a millisecond along with the message informing you are under the ships gravity. But after that you end back up at the same disoriented angle. We've tried area triggers, docked entities on that side of the ship with wireless gravity modules hoping the docked ships gravity would catch us. No go. We first experienced this problem when building a Mandalorian Corvette. Each ship this happens on happens to have logic and rails on it, if that makes a difference. On the corvette, right before we could get to the engine room we lost gravity and tried using the same methods and experiments above. As RPer's we like to put core access where the ship is piloted from, which would be the bridge of capital ship or the cockpit of a corvette sized ship and smaller. About 10 players that we know of, experience this same problem.
We've been wondering when this bug would be addressed for a very long time. I think it may have happened right after the release of the shipyard system. I don't know how many people have informed you about it or if you even know at all. It could be the way the ship is built or it could just be a plain old bug. As you can imagine it yanks you completely out of emersion in the game and makes certain areas of a ship just not worth going too.
If you can reproduce this bug, please, please, please, fix it asap. I don't know how many other's it's affected other then the people in our Star Wars Replica Build Community. We have a Smelter 5gb build only server that we build on. I honestly don't know if it's just that server or if it's others. I'm going to try and find out using a ship we know has this bug. I'll try to update this report if I can to let you know the results. I'll test it again in SP.
