Starmade | Natural structure build mode
Closed, RejectedPublic

Description

Build blocks placed on natural structures allow removal of blocks at a game breaking rate. by placing a build block on a natural structure (planet, asteroid, station) the player is capable of removing 8 (using all symmetry planes) 51/51/51 blocks with one click. this makes miner ships obsolete. it is unknown if the removal causes server lag but it does create immense sector lag and also has a chance of bypassing inventory limits. (i have gotten to 500% inventory capacity and sold the blocks for millions of credits) I don't know how the coding works but a solution may be to assign another tag to structures when they are generated by natural means. ex... planet is generated and assigned an invisible "natural" tag. structures with this tag cannot be removed in build mode and must therefore be mined.

Indirect feature request.

A safety mechanic has been implemented on planets so you get no ores from mining planets.
It is still a thing for asteroids, true,
it may also become an option to disable build-mode-mining there, and just add the plain blocks to the inventory, but for now, it stays the way it is.
