On Ubuntu Linux, install a fresh copy of the dev build using the old launcher, not the new one. (Though I suspect the new launcher will work the same). Upon starting a single player world, the sit section should say "$SIT" This behavior may be reproducible in other OS's and versions of StarMade. I haven't been specifically checking for this.
