To reproduce:
- Enter a ship with a SD Cockpit and press your left/right arrow while in the ship to switch to its view
- Press escape to open the main menu
- Press escape again to close the main menu
- The view will somehow start at the core and move to the cockpit (just in the same way as when you press the left/right arrow to switch view) instead of resuming there at the cockpit where it was at.
