Normally this used to occur with a broken uplink (or something not correct about it) when connecting to a server. Just Re-uplinking fixed it for you. This however isn't possible anymore or not as easily. In the main menu you can only remove the uplink/re-uplink in the Online play menu, but you crash before reaching it.
