The damage/sec calculations in the weapons menu for beam type weapons is currently multiplying the tick rate by the damage, when it should be dividing it.
The tick rate is showing how long between ticks of damage and not how many ticks of damage in one second, thus the proper damage/sec calculations are damage/tick-rate.

to reproduce current problems
1- use a shielded target to see damage number
2- put together a ship with beam and cannon system 7 blocks big each (size in my test)
3- shoot target and observe the damage numbers then compare that to the structure info for the damage beam system
